Congratulations to Shugoll Research's President, Merrill Shugoll, for winning the Marketing Research Association's most prestigious award in 2013, the Lifetime Membership Award!
"Each year, the Marketing Research Association (MRA) recognizes one of its members to join an elite group of extraordinary individuals. The winner of this year's award has served as President of MRA's Board of Directors. This person and her team have also been very active with the local MRA chapter and served tirelessly for the AMA, QRCA and the Washington Ad Club. During her time on the national board of MRA, she was the leading advocate for an Advisory group that would lead MRA through the Micro Global revolution that occurred in 2006 and helped the organization become aware of the pending social media/Big Data explosion. She has dedicated time and energy to the American Cancer Society, is a great supporter of the arts, is in great demand as a lecturer and frequently used as a resource for diverse publications. But to show what truly sets this person apart from so many others, I'd like to quote one of the people who nominated her for this award. "When I became an active MRA volunteer, there were a number of leaders who set an example for how a national leader should act, carry themselves in public, and how to best represent a profession and industry. Without a doubt, she is one of the greatest ambassadors our profession has had. Whether she was being interviewed on NPR for a marketing research perspective on a specific story or adding her talents as a moderator to build consensus on a tedious issue during a committee or board meeting, she has been a pillar for the MRA. Our association and industry has had more changes in the past 18 months than in the prior 18 years. If it were not for this amazing woman’s insight and leadership, I find it hard to imagine that MRA would be as strong and vibrant as it is today.” The MRA Board of Directors is honored to present the 2013 Honorary Lifetime Membership Award to Merrill Shugoll."
