At this year's Annual Meat Conference, one piece of research was shared that will lead to real, meaningful change in the meat department.
Once Upon a Protein: The Story of the Meat Case delivered a research-based blueprint by which meat departments can implement solutions leading
to long-term customer loyalty. It was presented as part of the Translating Trends into Sales workshop. The research results answer these
questions:
- How do both young adults and adults 30-54 perceive the meat department? Is there a difference by gender? (There is!)
- What hurdles exist that prevent additional meat purchases and loyalty to a particular store? (Unfortunately, plenty. But all can be addressed!)
- What are the actionable approaches to merchandising and meat case set up that can make a difference in effectively meeting customers' needs? (Duh! That was the main focus of the research!)
